Now that it’s confirmed, it’s more of a question of when it’ll show more for fans. It didn’t show much but the Remake logo, Aspyr’s name, and a rendering of Revan, but it set the Star Wars fandom ablaze. So, 10/10 for KotOR, 6/10 for the port, and we can call it even at 8.While expectations were high for the PlayStation Showcase, it still managed to shock many fans the world over when it opened with the Knights of the Old Republic Remake. I'd have loved some little QoL things like quick-saving and one button map access, but that status box is almost unforgivable. I have to dock a point just for that one thing. I imagine every single player, before they get off the first tutorial ship, will notice it, head to Google, and be disappointed when they find that there's no option to adjust it.

Why do I have to push so many buttons to save, which you should be doing regularly? Even more buttons to check the map, which can be frequent if you don't already have the game memorized. I mean, you're playing KotOR on a handheld, that's amazing. The port itself isn't the worst thing in the world. The characters are incredibly memorable, the locations will make any Star Wars fan smile, and the plot twists are still awesome. It's one of those games that has a special place in a lot of people's hearts, and even after all these years, its story and gameplay mostly hold up. Whether you’re eager to jump back into a world you enjoyed inhabiting quite some time ago or are simply intrigued to see what all of the accolades have been about this Switch release is a great way to enjoy the game whether on your couch or on the go. The story takes place very much in its own time and place, helping to distance itself from the associated baggage of the Skywalker saga while still capitalizing on peoples’ fascination with the Jedi and the Sith, who this confirms have been locking horns for quite some time. The great thing about KOTOR is that despite the fact that it looks a bit rough, and some of the voice acting isn’t that great, the lore and storytelling were always the game’s greatest strengths so what is most vital absolutely still holds up.
